For example, in Orange County, the only theater that shows movies at a later time is AMC 30 at the Block. Why don't Regal/Edwards and Century movie theatres show movies late? I think that they should show the last movies at 12 am.
I live near LA and I don't even find that many theaters have showings after 11 PM. If they did, the employees would be up until 2 or 3 in the morning. If you got paid minimum wage, would you enjoy working that late? Probably not. The theaters I go to have their last showings around 10:30.

I think everybody has a right to feel the way they want to feel about different situations ... so if you feel like being mad over this ... then you can be mad ... you don't need us to tell you how to feel ... because we really don't understand what is even going on. But I think that you should atleast ask her why she planned something and didn't even confront you and your friend about it. She also should have got the "okay" from you to have someone come over your house. Maybe you should talk to her about that ... you said she always does things similar to this ... well maybe she wouldn't if you told her how much it bothers you. Because if she really is your friend ... then she would take what you tell her into consideration. So don't be mad ... just yet ... until you try to work things out.

If you get upset about little things like this all the time you'll have no time to have fun! I don't know--if you say she does this to you all the time, then it can get annoying. Maybe she just thinks that she has to make the plans all the time because no one else suggests anything in particular. Have you ever suggested something only to have her change the plans?
And about your mutual friend getting a ride to your place (if I understand the situation correctly), there might be reasons that you don't know for that. If it upsets you, ask about it.
I'm not saying that you have the right or don't have the right to be upset. It upsets you and that's what matters. But to me it seems like no biggie.

The theaters where I live charge the same high price, but none of the speakers around the stadium seating are working. They only project from the front of the theater, and very loudly at that! This is not only annoying, but the sound is sometimes distorted. I don't mind so much on quiet dramas but even big productions have this inadequate sound that is worse than what I can get from my own TV set. I have complained three times but, other than getting my money back, I have found that they continue this practice. Are they getting cheaper prints of the films that don't include surround sound? Or are they just too cheap to repair the speakers around the theater that aren't working any more? The chain of cinemas I am talking about is the UA Cinema/Regal Entertainment theaters which are fairly new, overpriced and not worth going to any more. I'm boycotting. The best theatre I've been in is probably the Fox Theatre in St. Louis. This is largely dependent upon the fact that I have never been to New York. If I go to New York, my answer will probably change.
For theaters, you listed companies instead of a specific theater (for example, the Regal one in Evansville or something like that) so I'm going to follow suit. I personally prefer Kerasotes, but they are only available in a few states. (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin) All of the ones that I have been in give free refills on everything, and they are just overall good with customer care.

Dont worry. Go with a peaceful mind because it will not kill you even you fail. But be cheerful, sincere and free going in your behaviour. Be talkative.
Have your friends or family interview you. Take it seriously and ask them to quiz you. This helped me so much before my first interview. It lets you get your mind in gear to answer personal questions which aren't typical in normal conversations.
Be yourself. Some people put on airs or try to be someone they are not. Unless you are a professional actor, it is unlikely you will be able to get away with this. Part of this is not bragging or demeaning yourself. Tell the interviewers why you think you can add value to their team and what you want to get from them. Don't say too much but make sure you get your message across. (some people babble in interviews and that definitely doesn't help)
Take a moment after each question to compose an answer.
One thing that works for me is to ask the interviewer a question (only if things are going well though). A question like "what is your favorite thing about this company?" or "is there anything that you would like to see changed in this company?" or "how do you feel the benefits in this company compare to other similar companies?"
Dress better than the job you are interviewing for. Be on time. Shake their hands and look them in the eyes when you arrive and when you leave. Do some research ahead of time and be familiar with the company and (if you can) be familiar with the expectations of the position you are interviewing for. Smile and enjoy yourself.
Don't let a bad interview shake you. Every one will be better than the last. Every one will be different from the last.

Job interviews for the most part are abot 5 to 10 minutes maximum. Be sure to arrive early, 10 minutes prior, firm handshake with an introduction who you are and inquir with the interviewer how they are doing.

OK First thing you need to do is be yourself but professional and sell yourself. You can start off by pencilling down your strengths and work from there. Additionally, be confident and remember an interview means they want you, you are 50% in the door, you have to get yourself in the other half.
O.k. here are some other tips:
1. Know as much as you can about the company
2. Dress appropriately and professionally.
3. Try to answer each question by relating a situation as to how you came to a resolution to the problem e.g.
- What would you do if you prepared a meal that the customer was dissatisfied with? What if the customer became irate as they were hungry and impatient?
In this situation you could tell what you would do in the situation. To score major points you could relate a life experience of a similar nature and tell how you resolved it.
HAVE CONFIDENCE AND TAKE IT FROM THERE.

Reagal Union Square Theater to Penn Station: take the n or the r uptown to 34th street/herald square station

You can't take the "N" train from Penn Station unless you walk from 8th or 7th Avenue (depending on the exit) to Broadway. Why not take the "A" train to 14th Street and 8th Avenue and transfer to the "L" to Union Square. It saves you a walk to the East Side of 34th Street for the "N". I hope this makes sense.

I have complained to the "property management" of the entire outdoor mall complex and they said that each individual merchant is responible for thier own doors. The most inconvienent place is Regal Cinemas both at this mall and any of their other theaters. I've complained several times to the theater management at this mall and have met with indifference. Have you ever sat through so many previews, that by the time the movie started, you forgot what you came to see? Ever been tempted to leave because the previews ran so long, you could be late for something else if you stayed for the movie you PAID to see?
How long can you usually abide previews until you've seen more than enough?
Wow! I'v noticed that depending on what theater I go to it depends on how many previews they show. Like if I go to a new release (first night ) then they show usually 1-3 maybe 4 previews but when I go to one that has been out a while then they show alot. The drive in usually only shows 1 or 2. I think it depends on what theater you go to.
The thing that drives me crazy is Cinemark (formally Century Theaters) and their showing of television comercials I hate that! I didn't pay $6.50 to see a car advert that I could have seen on tv for free.
And yes there have been times where they have showed so many previews that I forgot what I was seeing.
How long can I abide depends on what the previews are. I go to the movies alot so I end up seeing the same preview each time I go and usually that drives me crazy expecially if its for a movie that looks dumb.

I don't know where you live. But if the movie is long there are hardly any previews . But when there is a short movie, they fill those hours with them. And ads.
When does this movie come out??? I thought that it came out on Friday, but I can't fing it in any theaters. Or did it do so bad that they pulled it out of a lot of theaters within the first two days. I usually go to Manassas Regal Cinima in VA, but it's not on the showtime listing.
It already came out, but I don't think in all theaters. It may not be in the theater nearest to you, but I know it's out, just look around.

The other day I was out that way and I happened to see that they are opening a puppy boutique sort of place right next to the chocolate shop, located on the south side of the movie theater (regal 18) but before the Applebees. Who works at a movies theater for regal cinemas? When, where, and how long to you train (for concession stand person)? And is it fun.....what is an average start off pay (if you have had a previous job)?
It all depends on where you are. Cost of living always effects pay rates, so it could be as low as minimum wage or as high as $8.00 per hour. Training can normally be completed within a couple of days and it is fun if you are a teenager or so, but not if you are much older as they cater to a younger staff (read: they pay less). There are nice perks, though, such as previewing movies and discounts. Also, it kinda sucks that you work mainly weekends.
There isn't a REgal Theatre in Dublin but there is a Gaeity Theatre where Colin Farrell trained and I've been told that rates of pay are good there.

I worked for them some time ago. I think I was 22 years old and I'm 31 now. We got to watch them all the time for free. On the slow nights, we could go in and sit and watch. The boss didn't really care as long as we didn't get carried away and still got our work done.

In reality, yes. It will probably depend on the management at the particular theater you are attending.

It depends which position you are working at. If cashier they will ask if you can give change. Simple stuff. Or if you get along well with others.
Usually employers ask questions like "why do you want to work here? What experience or skills do you bring to this job? Why should we hire you? What hours/days are you available? Would you be willing to work weekends, holidays, and evenings?, etc..." Those are some questions you should be prepared to answer.
Try not to be nervous, and answer the questions as honestly as you can, and you'll be fine. Good Luck.

yea, you can go to any movie that isnt rated R or NC-17, you need to be 17 to see both of those, and you have to be 21 to take anyone who is under 17 into a R rated film.

In my experiance the ticket takers seldom ask for age even for R rated films, after all you don't see people checking the theaters for underage tickets being sold. Not like cigerettes or liquor.

I've seen both, and they were both good in their own ways. Depends on whether you want to sit there and just be entertained, which would be the National Treasures movie - Or if you want to sit there and be educated on past events and social injustices - which would be the Great Debaters.
Some scenes of the Great Debaters may be a little difficult for some to see, as it does deal with racism and the extremes some go to in their zeal to express their hatred towards others.
